Codyfight: Alpha Focused on AI Metaverse Battle

06/03/2023·1years ago

Last year, the leading IDO platform DAOMaker announced a selection of noteworthy projects for the future, selecting high-quality projects in various fields such as metaverse, social, and Defi, including the GameFi field focused on AI metaverse battle project Codyfight. Codyfight is an immersive competitive game metaverse for artificial intelligence and humans, which uses NFTs and rewards creativity and talent in a scalable community-driven P2E model supported by the Codyfight token $CTOK.

What is Codyfight?

Codyfight is a metaverse competition game for AI and humans, which is a turn-based strategy game that can be likened to a chess game for programmers. It is based on NFTs and the $CTOK token, supports a scalable P2E model, and rewards community creativity. It also focuses on gathering creative, tech-savvy, and versatile members in community-driven games.

Codyfight aims to be the ultimate place where players can defeat AI algorithms in one-on-one arena battles. Codyfight also has a closely connected community, benefiting artists, gamers, developers, community leaders, and cryptocurrency investors.

For example, artists can earn passive income by selling NFT skins they create on the market and gain a stable source of income. Programmers can write code for AI robots, control robot farms, and help users cultivate rewards by expanding the farm. Community leaders will be able to benefit from organizing community tournaments, which will cut a bonus pool for winners and organizers, visible to all participants, to promote transparency.

Specific Gameplay

  • Game Preparation: Users need to create their own battle robot codyfighter (can have multiple), players can manually control or let the robot execute code automatically, robots have different attributes and appearances—becoming unique NFTs. Everyone can get a robot with a default NFT skin and CKey for free. Additional CKeys (private identification keys for each robot, meaning additional new robots) and skins can be purchased from other players in the store or market. In addition, skins can be obtained as special rewards for outstanding achievements in the game.

  • Game Rules: In the 2D game map, participate in competitive games/casual games/custom games/complete tasks, etc., to earn points, win games, and improve their ranking (Rank ladder mechanism) to earn rewards. A match consists of 10 rounds, with each player able to take up to 25 steps per round. Each turn, players can choose to take one action: right, left, up, down, or stay.

Different NPCs will appear on the map, such as Mr.Ryo, catching such "bad" NPCs in the map can earn 15 points. Similarly, there will be "good" NPCs, such as The Ripper, who can be teamed up with to help catch the bad guys. Players need to combine the characteristics of their combat robots, map features, and randomly appearing NPCs to develop the best game strategy to win battles and corresponding rewards.

  • Matching Mechanism: As a turn-based competitive game, Codyfight naturally comes with a Rank ranking and ladder system, as well as a reasonable incentive mechanism. Rankings will be based on the player's win rate. If you have the skills, it is easy to move up from a lower ranking, but it is much more difficult to maintain a high ranking. The ranking system will also help solve matching problems, determining who will compete with whom, and you will not know if you are fighting against AI, humans, or any combination of them. Higher ranks mean higher rewards, and high-ranking players will receive more incentives.

  • Innovative Gameplay: One of Codyfight's biggest innovations is the "two ways to play," which includes two types of gameplay, classic gameplay and intelligent gameplay, allowing both traditional gamers and code experts to join the game:

  • Keyboard controls: Players can experience the excitement of battle firsthand and adjust strategies in real time according to the game process, and can easily play the game on any device using an internet browser.

  • Game API: Implement game automation, allowing players to earn money while sleeping (robots will automatically execute combat strategies), and grow their Codyfighter army by expanding the AI robot farm.

  • Game Modes and Rewards

  • Competitive Games: Participating in competitive matches is classified by leagues, requiring different fees and levels to participate. Players need to have CTickets (NFT assets, obtained as rewards or through trading, unlimited) or a Free Pass (updated daily for free, and can only be used up to a certain level) to participate in matches. For example, two players enter the game, each bringing 1 $CTOK, and the player who wins the game can earn 1.9 $CTOK, with an additional 0.1 $CTOK injected into the ecosystem, mainly providing incentives for casual gamers.

  • Casual Games: This mode is free and does not require any special conditions. Players can play with random users or friends, providing an opportunity to connect with them and participate in rewarding mini-challenge games.

  • Custom Community Games: Codyfight aims to create an open metaverse where players can customize their own experiences in the virtual world and become game builders. Custom games require players to pay a certain amount of tokens (injected into the ecosystem). Excellent custom games that are welcomed by other players can also receive generous rewards.

  • NFT Market: Codyfight embeds a Create2Earn platform, with its NFT market consisting of an NFT store (official sales) and a community market (player-provided). Players can manage their assets here, such as CTickets, NFT combat robots, AI-operated robots (strategy code), etc.

The community market gives talented and creative players the opportunity to earn rewards by designing NFT skin artwork, for example, each NFT combat robot accepted and listed in the community market will reward the designer a certain percentage of sales revenue, as an incentive for game creativity.

To support the game's highlight—automatic gameplay through AI-operated robots (strategy code), developers have the opportunity to create AI algorithms and sell the code on the market or rent out AI robot farms. However, the official statement is that to reduce the possibility of fraud, private sales and trading are not explicitly supported.

Team and Partners

Codyfight's core team members have publicly disclosed identities, and on the official website, you can find the full LinkedIn profiles of each member. Both founders are technical professionals who have been deeply involved in technology for many years. The CEO and CTO are senior engineers with a background in computer science, with over 10 years of experience in computer development. The team is equipped with an excellent marketing team and an outstanding design team essential for NFT projects, indicating that it is a strong and very sincere team.

Codyfight also has many partners, not only upcoming IDO platforms such as DAOMaker and GameFi, but also well-known projects such as Kyros, Gate.io, MEXC Global, Wings Ventures, Raptor Capital, Digital Strategies, Dweb3 Capital, Evangelion Capital, and Impossible Finance, providing strong resource support.

Token Economics

Codyfight's native token $CTOK is an ERC-20 token that can be used in the game and traded on the Ethereum, Polygon, and BNB Chain blockchains, with Ethereum being the main network. The main purpose of $CTOK is to ignite the game's economic system, allowing its ecosystem to operate in a healthy and balanced manner, and allowing players to earn rewards in the game.

$CTOK will be used in the following specific scenarios:

  • Reduce transaction costs within the game to keep them at a minimum level;
  • Reward player contributions in the game and further incentivize players to purchase assets, such as CTickets, Ckeys;
  • Create player income from in-game assets, including NFT skins and AI code, etc.;
  • Create a valuable game reward system based on player rankings;
  • Reward external project contributors and incentivize their participation in the project's success.

The total supply of $CTOK is 127,000,001 tokens, with the allocation and specific content as follows:

  • 26% - Private round (including KOL), TGE unlocks 10%, starting from the 5th month, 4.5% released monthly.

  • 20% - Marketing, Ecosystem, TGE unlocks 20%, starting from the 2nd month, 5% released monthly.

  • 16% - Development for project development, TGE unlocks 0%, starting from the 2nd month, 4% released monthly, 12% in the 13th month, 4% released monthly.

  • 15% - Liquidity, Staking, Market making, Incentives for liquidity/staking/market making/incentives, TGE unlocks 20%, starting from the 2nd month, 5% released monthly.

  • 15% - Team, TGE unlocks 0% (locked for the first year), 12% in the 13th month, 8% released monthly.

  • 6% - Partners & Advisors, TGE unlocks 0%, starting from the 2nd month, 4%, 12% in the 13th month, 4% released monthly.

  • 2% - Public round, TGE unlocks 10%, starting from the 5th month, 4.5% released monthly.

Through this token allocation, it is difficult to see the portion left for player P2E or C2E, which may be included in the Ecosystem or Incentives, but the reward ratio is not clearly specified. At most, it is a part of the sum of these two items, 35%, making people worry that the portion left for player rewards may not be enough. In fact, we can also see that Codyfight is different from many other GameFi projects in that it does not mention much about player self-governance, but more about team behavior. Whether this team-led approach has its advantages and disadvantages, it depends on the personal thoughts of players and investors.

IDO Information

The $CTOK token was originally planned to conduct an IDO on the DAOMaker platform in 2022Q1, but due to unknown reasons, it has been continuously postponed. Until 2023, the official website refreshed the token generation event module, stating that $CTOK will be launched on the two major platforms DAOMaker and GameFi, with the IDO price of each token set at $0.08/$CTOK, and the specific date has not been announced, but it is expected to take place in 2023.
