U.S. President Trump signed a bill to prevent the IRS from collecting tax filing data from decentralized cryptocurrency platforms, a move that is historically significant. This marks the first time legislation specifically targeting cryptocurrencies has become law in the United States.
The bill was introduced by Republican Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) under the Congressional Review Act to repeal what the IRS calls “DeFi broker rule,” which was passed in the Senate on March 26 with an overwhelming bipartisan vote of 70-28. Just two weeks ago, a similar version led by Rep. Mike Carey (R-OH) was passed with a similar "super majority." The controversial DeFi broker rules were proposed in the last few days of the Biden administration, requiring decentralized crypto entities (such as exchanges without central governing bodies) to comply with traditional IRS reporting requirements. Critics believe that the provision is too cumbersome and may stifle innovation and severely hinder the development of the DeFi industry.
“This rule will undermine the U.S. leadership in the cryptocurrency field, and I am grateful to President Trump for signing my resolution into law,” Cruz, who attended the signing ceremony on Thursday afternoon, told Crypto In America. “This resolution is a victory for innovation, privacy and economic freedom.”

Grayscale and Osprey settle on Bitcoin ETF lawsuit
Digital asset management company Grayscale and Osprey have settled a legal dispute over marketing practices of Bitcoin Trust ETFs.
Court documents show that both parties must complete the sorting and execution of the settlement agreement documents within the next 45 days. The case stems from the fact that Osprey sued Grayscale for “misleading publicity” in the process of promoting GBTC to ETFs in early 2023, and Grayscale was approved by the SEC to convert to ETFs in 2024. Previously, the court ruled that Grayscale won the case in February 2025, believing that the Connecticut Improper Business Conduct Act cited by Osprey does not apply to securities cases. The details of the settlement have not been made public and there is no formal response from both parties.
The State Council Tariff Commission announced an announcement to adjust the tariff measures for importing goods originating from the United States. From April 12, 2025, the tariff rate stipulated in the "Announcement of the State Council Tariff Commission on Adjusting the Tariff Measures for Importing Goods Origin from the United States" will be adjusted from 84% to 125%. Other matters shall be implemented in accordance with the "Announcement of the State Council Tariff Commission on Improving Tariffs on Imported Goods Originating in the United States" (Tax Commission Announcement No. 4 of 2025).
According to the official announcement, based on the voting results and due diligence, Binance will launch Ondo (ONDO), Big Time (BIGTIME) and Virtuals Protocol (VIRTUAL) at 22:00 on April 11, 2025 (East Eighth District Time) and open the following spot trading pairs: ONDO/USDT, ONDO/USDC, BIGTIME/USDT, BIGTIME/USDC, VIRTUAL/USDT, VIRTUAL/USDC.
BlackRock 's net inflow of digital assets business $3 billion in Q1
According to Cointelegraph, BlackRock, the world's largest asset management company, released its first quarter 2025 financial report.
