Foreign media: Binance executives met with U.S. Treasury officials last month to seek ease of regulation

PANews reported on April 12 that people familiar with the matter revealed that Binance executives met with U.S. Treasury officials last month to discuss relaxing the U.S. government regulation of the company, while the company is also exploring a commercial deal with a cryptocurrency company in the Trump family. Binance executives have asked Washington Treasury officials to remove a U.S. ombudsman who oversees the exchange's compliance with anti-money laundering laws, some people familiar with the matter said. The move will mark the company's first step back into the U.S. market. The company has admitted to violating these laws in 2023.
