Looking back on the past and looking forward to the future: Why is short selling not cost-effective?

Theoretically speaking, shorting makes up to 1 times, but you may lose endlessly;
You can lose as much as 1 times, but you may make a lot of money.
Although some people refute that because all altcoins in the currency circle have strong gravity (team shipments), short selling is not as bad as expected.
However, I still rarely short (except hedging), and the deeper reason is:
Short selling will make people distorted and become hated by the industry (seeing the dark side will deepen itself)
Once hatred is the one who loses faith, one day he will start trying the empty pancake, but the consequences are terrifying.

For 22 years, I have been slamming Luna scams on Twitter every day, so I have a say in a while.
$Luna thunder is essentially:
Luna The wealth of bulls

Luna Short + CEX.
After all, it was once a project with a top 10 market value, so the Air Force made a lot of money.
But you can't [only watch the thief eat meat, not watch the thief get beaten]
When Luna rose from US$0.3 to US$120, countless short money had already entered the longs' pockets, so shorting was still not worth it.
I had one short order at that time, and I had no short orders, I had no short orders, I had $UST (Luna's stablecoin).
I still think this is a pretty good decision. As a stablecoin, I started short at 0.9 or so, theoretically, I lost less than 10%, and I could make 90%.
However, this short selling opportunity only once in a few years.
Moreover, you will encounter $TRB , which is a nuclear explosion in the spot (no fundamentals, but $10→$550 for a few months). Even if you have a fairy-level deposit, you will clear all the air force ammunition at once.

So the conclusion is:
Don 't be used to shorting (except hedging)
I 'd rather not make some money
A bear market would rather rest
