Musk's confrontation with Washington becomes the cover of the new issue of Time magazine

PANews reported on February 8 that Musk's confrontation with Washington has become the cover of Time magazine's latest issue, and Elon Musk is leading the US government's large-scale streamlining operation. The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), who led his leadership, has taken over the U.S. Digital Services department and entered the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), laying off employees, cutting budgets, and rectifying federal agencies. In early February, DOGE tried to force its entry into the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) headquarters. After it was rejected, Musk called it a "criminal organization" on X, and the agency was almost completely shut down.

The Trump administration authorized Musk to advance the "Project 2025" reform with the goal of reducing the size of the government and eliminating opposition forces. Several civil servants were forced to resign because they refused to cooperate, and some senior management of institutions were removed. The Democratic Party and the union have launched legal lawsuits, and some courts have ruled to suspend relevant actions. But Musk still controls key institutions, and the outside world is concerned that government power is overly affected by private entrepreneurs.
