New York Attorney General Subpoenas Scammer Who Stealed $2.2 Million in Cryptocurrency via Airdrop NFT

PANews reported on January 12 that according to The Block, New York State Attorney General Letitia James filed a lawsuit accusing a cryptocurrency fraud ring of stealing at least $2.2 million from New Yorkers through false remote work opportunities. James plans to serve the alleged scammers by airdropping NFTs into wallets controlled by the scammers. “NFT’s service will provide fraudsters with notice of the lawsuit, providing them with a link to the [Attorney General’s Office] website containing all complaints,” a press release from the Attorney General’s Office said. “No other state or federal regulator has previously used this. ways to file a lawsuit.”
