U.S. core CPI unexpectedly fell, while non-seasonally adjusted CPI rebounded modestly in line with expectations

01/15/2025·20days agoPANews reported on January 15 that the U.S. non-seasonally adjusted CPI annual rate rose to 2.9% in December, rebounding for the third consecutive month and reaching a new high since July 2024, in line with market expectations. The previous value was 2.7%.
In addition, the non-seasonally adjusted core CPI annual rate in the United States recorded 3.2% in December, the lowest since August 2024, and market expectations were unchanged at 3.3%.
