From AI Meme, to AI Agent, to AI technology framework, the narrative of AI in the Crypto world is developing rapidly. Now, everyone is beginning to pay attention to the next evolutionary point of AI narrative, paying more attention to specific application narratives, such as DeFAI or AI + games. So, what AI game projects are worthy of our attention?

Parallel Colony

Parallel is a TCG (trading card game) on the Base chain and is affiliated with the Echelon Prime Foundation. In 2021, Parallel completed US$50 million in financing led by Paradigm, with other investors including YouTube co-founder Chad Hurley, Focus Labs, OSS Capital and Yunt Capital.

Parallel is already available for players to play. In addition to Parallel, the Echelon Prime Foundation is also developing Parallel Colony, a survival game that incorporates ERC-6551 technology and allows players to cooperate with AI. The player assigns tasks to the AI Agent, and the AI Agent completes it on its own, communicates with other AI Agents, and communicates with players to give its own game ideas. AI Agent will also conduct transactions autonomously in Parallel Colony.

The game will be open for testing in the first quarter of this year. In addition to Parallel Colony, Parallel has also developed an AI-driven full-chain automated trading tool @AIWayfinder, which is quite similar to Stud AI.

Smol Worlds

Smol Worlds Treasure DAO Ecosystem's core PFP project is an AI game being developed by Smol Brains. The person in charge of this game is Shaw, who is now famous in the AI Crypto track. He was the first to develop the Treasure DAO ecosystem.

In Smol World, each Smol Brains will be able to play on-chain games as an AI Agent and can steal each other's assets for PvP. The game will be integrated with the Eliza framework.

Eternum

This is an on-chain sandbox strategy game in the Loot (Realms) ecosystem, on the StarkNet network.

Its founder @lordOfAFew proposed a system called Daydream that allows AI Agents to play games on the chain. The special thing about Daydream is that it does not make AI work like a robot through precoding, but makes AI autonomous.

To put it simply, first of all, AI does not tell them in the form of code "the game is like this, what should you do", but AI understands the game mechanics on its own, takes corresponding actions, and even writes corresponding codes. Secondly, if the game mechanism is updated, the AI Agent does not need to be restarted, but can complete the enhancement of its own capabilities by proposing merge PRs to humans.

In future Season 1 games, Eternum will inject hundreds of AI Agents into the game through Daydream, serving as in-game PVE or NPC characters to coexist with players in a competitive game environment.

AI Arena

This is an AI game project that we introduced in 2022 (related reading: AI Arena, an NFT AI arena led by Paradigm)

In the AI Arena, NFT game characters will compete in a platform fighting game like "Nintendo Super Smash Bros.". Whoever knocks the opponent off the map first wins. The biggest difference from "Super Smash Bros." is that during the battle, players cannot control their NFT game characters, and all behaviors are driven by AI.

This game project has now become a larger brand, ARC Agents, which aims to improve AI's reasoning and adaptability to the real world through research on game AI Agents. ARC Agents announced a strategic partnership with Eliza Labs on January 7.

Super Champs

The above are all projects that directly introduce AI technology into games. There are also some chain games that do not introduce AI into games themselves. However, rather than saying "robbing", I would rather say that it is a positive move to actively approach the market hot spots, because the quality of the game itself is still Very OK.

Super Champs is such a chain game, behind it is Joyride Games, which announced more than two years ago that it had received $14 million in financing from investors such as Coinbase Ventures, Animoca Brands, and Dapper Labs.

They have built an AI that can live broadcast the game and interact with the barrage, but currently it can only explain their own games. In the future, AI will be trained to commentate on other games. If you want to hire their AI to commentate on IP, you have to use their tokens. It can be considered a logical and self-consistent narrative...
