Kraken lays off hundreds of employees in various business units over the past few months
Cryptocurrency exchange giant Kraken has laid off hundreds of employees in all business areas in the past few months, and the company is preparing for a listing in the U.S. to continue streamlining its business, according to two people familiar with the matter.
Kraken reportedly laid off 400 employees at the end of October last year, accounting for about 15% of the total workforce, when Silicon Valley investor and Kraken board member Arjun Sethi served as co-CEO along with David Ripley. A person familiar with the matter said that since Sethi became co-CEO, “hundreds of people have left,” noting that the company plans to continue layoffs in addition to cutting 15% at the end of last year.
Binance Wallet launches Lorenzo Protocol TGE
Binance Wallet announced that it will join forces with PancakeSwap to host an exclusive token generation event for Lorenzo Protocol. The 10th exclusive token generation event (TGE) is held through the decentralized exchange PancakeSwap. Subscription time is from 9:00 to 11:00 am on April 18 (UTC time).
According to the latest official regulations, users must complete valid Binance Alpha token purchases through the Binance Wallet (no key) or Binance Exchange within 30 days before the TGE date (00:00:00 UTC on March 19, 2025 to 23:59:59 UTC on April 17, 2025). An additional 84 million BANK tokens were allocated for future marketing activities.
Binance Alpha and Binance contracts will be launched on Balance (EPT)
Binance Alpha will be launched and open for Balance (EPT) transactions on April 21 at 20:00. In addition, the Binance Contract Platform will launch the EPTUSDT perpetual contract at 21:00 on April 21, with a maximum leverage of 20 times.
KiloEx has recovered all stolen funds and the case is officially closed
According to the official announcement of KiloEx, the platform has successfully recovered all the stolen assets in this security incident, involving an amount of approximately US$5.5 million. It is currently cooperating with judicial authorities and third-party experts to promote the formal closing procedure of the case.
At the same time, a 10% bounty will be issued to white hat hackers in accordance with the agreement. KiloEx said it will not pursue further legal responsibilities and promised to continue to strengthen platform security construction.

eXch said in an April 17 announcement that most members of the management team voted to adopt a "stop and retreat" strategy in response to allegations that North Korean hacker group Lazarus Group cleaned about $35 million of funds through the platform - a funding that stemmed from a $1.4 billion hacker attack suffered by Bybit.
The exchange said it has become the target of a "Transatlantic Joint Law Enforcement Operation" that aims to shut down its business and potentially file criminal charges. “Although we resisted multiple attempts to shut down infrastructure and maintain operations, we believe it is meaningless to continue operating in a hostile environment where signal intelligence surveillance targets, just because some people misinterpret our purpose,” eXch said in a statement. The exchange initially denied allegations from blockchain detectives about its helping Lazarus Group to launder money, but admitted to handling “a small fraction of funds” from the February hack.
